A Vision
The vision of one man and the
experience and ideas of three industry veterans
shaped one of the largest and fastest growing
telecom consulting companies in the U.S,
including a portal to the worldwide resources of
ALU for network outsourcing.
The Story
Dieter Thompson founded TAG in
his home office in late 2001 with one customer and a
vision to bridge the gap in service delivery and
market pricing between corporate clients and telecom
vendors. Thompson was joined by two other
telecommunications industry veterans, Ed Gray and
Wayne Webers, and the three partners incorporated
TAG in 2002. Each of the three men represented a
different facet of the telecommunications industry.
Through the years TAG has added
other industry veterans and executives from across
the carrier community. This core group of industry
executives and veterans have decades of experience.
The company’s extensive knowledge gained from both
the voice and data fields, coupled with its unusual
end-user perspective, provides its clients with a
complete telecommunications resource.
- In July 2007,
TAG was recognized as one of the 5,000 fastest
growing private companies by Inc. Magazine, and its
executives have been quoted and profiled in industry
trade as well as business publications.
-
- In August
2008, TAG was acquired by Alcatel-Lucent, becoming a
wholly-owned subsidiary. As such, TAG added
enterprise network management and outsourcing (ENO)
capability and the worldwide resources of
Alcatel-Lucent to its entrepreneurial professional
services capabilities.
-
- Today,
Dallas-based TAG continues to grow its core
professional services business specializing in the
procurement of telecommunications services including
voice, data, wireless, internet, local, and
international services for national and
multi-national companies, while supporting
Alcatel-Lucent in the growth of ENO.
